About

  1. Shredhara Desert is the region; its capital is El Alia. A desert oasis market town of terraced adobe and tile in warm clay, with arches, shade sails and copper lanterns, a little gothic. It is known for glassblowing and for duneboarding. Part of Halfpipe World. Team: the Wyverns (basketball). The daily legend is a gentle giant wyvern who guards the springs, and wyvern hatchlings are rare creatures on the route.

Planned mechanics

  1. Basketball (live, 1.19). Talk to Iago at the Duneboard Shack and pick *Play basketball* (Sandlot Court) vs the Dust Devils. Played right on the town street (no separate screen): one screen wide, a goal at each edge; townsfolk step back to the fence to watch and the town keeps going. Pick 1v1 or 2v2 from the host's talk panel; a small score chip shows score, clock and controls, Esc leaves. 1v1 or 2v2; AI kids fill every slot but yours. 2:00 clock, then the score stands (ties stay ties). Tap E to pass, hold E to shoot, E on defence to steal / tackle, Space to jump. Shots arc to a hoop at each edge: let go of E when the meter is full; long shots are worth 3, and a jump at the hoop dunks.
  2. Duneboarding. A new Downhill variant on sand: slower and carvier, with sand plumes and wind gusts that lift your airs. Collect glass "dune glints" for the glassblower.

Nearby: Hallow's End

  1. A small town of friendly vampires, reached by bus from El Alia once you have ridden the El Alia route. It shares El Alia's gothic look: dark stone, candle-amber windows, and orange and purple accents only. It is always dusk or darker here, and darkest in October.
  2. Places. Coach Stop (the bus stop), Candlewick Chandlery, Night Market Hall, Pumpkin Patch Cottage and the Count's Townhouse.
  3. Pumpkin patch. Beside Pumpkin Patch Cottage there are two pumpkin piles. Press E to pick a pumpkin and carve it; the carved one glows at night. Each pile gives one carved pumpkin a day.
  4. Shops. Calypso sells candles that become pipe decor (amber taper, plum pillar, skull candle, jar candle, bat votive). Lily sells spiced cider, which makes friendship count double for 15 minutes.
  5. Errands. Prospero, the Count, sends an invitation to Sonny in El Alia.
  6. People. Prospero (bat, the Count), Calypso (cat, candle maker), Corvin (raven, town crier and letter carrier), Fido (wolf, night watchman), Olin (owl, pumpkin farmer) and Lily (frog, potion maker). Kids: Circe, Samson, Zina and Ximena, who ride brooms.
