The heat
- Open Mode, then Competition. It is also under Scene, then Vert, Street, or Downhill. The demo hides it.
- A kid from your guild offers the heat. The card reads Ride against their name. Jace, Alma, Santiago, Soraya, Hiro, Brigid, Rowan, and Mei can be that kid, along with the first eight.
- They share your lane, a little higher, behind you. They are the same size as you. They do not bump you.
- First to the goal wins. There is no clock. On Vert the goal is time in the air. On Street, Downhill, and Slalom it is the run.
- S-K-A-T-E keeps going during the heat. Five letters and that rider is out.
- They push while they roll. On Street they crouch and jump only to clear an obstacle in their path. On Vert, Downhill, and Slalom the jump shows only while they are in the air.
- A kid win pays 4 guild bucks. A loss pays 1 and starts the win count over. Three kid wins in a row offer your guildmaster, once that day. A master win pays 8.
- After the heat, Ride again stays in Competition. Free Skate leaves it.
- Chat cannot start a heat or win one.
