Rowan

Who they are

1. Rowan is a Cidertown kid. They want to be able to handle anything alone.
2. Accepting help can feel, to them, like giving up the right to choose.
3. They carry a multitool, and they own a spare of almost anything useful.
4. They work as assistant to Bodie at Town Hall and raise animals. There is a goat behind Town Hall. It came with the job. No one asked.

Friendship

1. Early. They make it clear the job is yours to finish yourself.

People they know

1. Pom respects the capability, and can see when independence is being used as armor. Carlos does not treat the distance as a rejection. He keeps showing up. Kira's friendliness drives them up a wall, and it teaches both of them something about boundaries. Bodie is their employer at Town Hall; Rowan is too competent to leave and Bodie has no intention of letting them go.

Where they stand

1. In the plaza in summer, autumn, and winter, when it is clear, fog, snow, or wind, and it is day or night. On the Long Street they skate past.
