Miso

Who she is

1. Miso is landlady of the Pipe Street apartments, and she runs the Lost Sock Laundromat downstairs. She wants everybody to have a place, and a person, that feels like home.
2. She solves problems before people have a chance to solve them.
3. On her Lost Sock board, every unmatched sock is a tiny missing-person case.
4. A hummingbird moment can happen beside her.

Friendship

1. Early. She seems to know what you need before you say it.

People she knows

1. Carlos is the person she forgets to hide her worries from. Alma is a natural partner for everything the laundromat finds. Kira reminds her of her own habit of helping before she asks, only louder.

Where she stands

1. In the plaza in spring, autumn, and winter, when it is clear, drizzle, snow, or fog, and it is day. On the Long Street she walks in the distance.
